WELLINGTON CITY

Wellington Police are continuing to investigate some night time intruder burglaries in Kilbirnie in recent times, which featured on Police Ten-7 last night.

Detective Constable Miriam Reddington of the Wellington CIB says Police believe an indecent assault and two intruder burglaries overnight on the 9th of February and a further intruder burglary on the 24th of February are linked.

"Police have recovered a distinctive purple and yellow LA Lakers cap which the offender left behind at one of the addresses and we hope the attached image may jog someone's memory to assist us in identifying him."

A description of the offender in all incidents is very similar. He is described as a Maori or Pacific male in his mid teens to early 20's of medium build, clean shaven with dark brown hair.

Detective Constable Reddington says, "We believe these incidents are sexually motivated and urgently want to hear from anyone with any information to prevent any further, more serious offending from occurring."

Anyone with any information should contact Police on (04) 381 2000 or phone Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. For further information click on our previous media release here: http://www.police.govt.nz/news/release/30964.html
