Poker players from around New Zealand will be hitting the tables for the 2012 SKYCITY Deep Stack Series at the SKYCITY Casino Poker Room from Monday 26 March until Sunday 1 April. Day 1a of the tournament will commence at 7.30pm on Thursday 29 March.

With only 180 spaces available the event is sure to sell out with the best players from around New Zealand travelling to Auckland for a chance to take home the trophy and the title of 2012 SKYCITY Deep Stack Series Main Event winner.

Satellites for the SKYCITY Deep Stack Series began on 5 March and are held at SKYCITY Auckland’s poker room. Entry into the Satellites is from as little as $20 with $20 re-buys up to a $130 satellite event. Satellite tournaments allow players to win their way into the main event through mini tournaments that will be held week days from Monday to Friday.

The Main Event will be run as a repechage event allowing players who buy into Day 1a and do not make the cut to buy into Day 1b or Day 1c for the full buy-in price – thus giving them another shot at making it through. The buy-in for the Main Event of the SKYCITY Deep Stack Series is NZ$550.

During the tournament a No Limit Texas Hold’em will be held on Saturday 31 March (7.15pm) and Sunday 1 April (3.30pm) with a buy-in of $220. A Pot Limit Omaha event will also be held on Friday 30 March (7.30pm) with a buy-in of $330.
