Homekill goes wrong in Helensville

AUCKLAND

Police attended a report of a man hit by a ricochet bullet during a homekill in Peak Rd, Helensville.

Police were called to the scene by Ambulance about 1115 am today. It appears a professional homekill slaughterman shot a beast and the bullet ricocheted off the beast's head and hit the slaughterman's 18 year old assistant in the shoulder.

The victim was taken to hospital by helicopter. His condition was described as serious.

Police examined the scene and the matter has been reported to OSH.
