Arrest made in Serious Assault Case

A 54 year old male has been arrested and charged with Assault, after a serious assault in a lunch bar in Pitt St, Auckland City, earlier this afternoon.

The 45 year old female victim, who is known to the person arrested, has undergone surgery at Auckland City Hospital. She remains in a critical condition.

Enquires are ongoing, and further serious charges are likely.
