Porirua Police have released CCTV images of a male they are seeking in connection to the aggravated robbery of the Daji Foodmarket Dairy in Titahi Bay just over a week ago.

Detective Sergeant Shane Rongonui says at approximately 4.30pm on Sunday 11 March, a male entered the dairy in Te Puke Street with an axe and demanded cigarettes and cash.

"The offender is described as Maori or Polynesian, around 17 to 18 years of age, about five foot 10 in height of athletic build. He was wearing a short sleeved white and red checked shirt over a red sweatshirt. He had a white t-shirt covering his hair and a red t-shirt around his mouth and nose. He was brandishing a tomahawk type axe approximately 30 centimetres long."

The female dairy owner was shaken but unharmed as a result of the aggravated robbery.

"We hope someone will recognise this offender in the attached CCTV images and be able to assist us in our ongoing investigation. We urge anyone with any information to come forward and speak with Police as soon as possible.”

Anyone with any information should contact Porirua Police on (04) 238 1400 or phone Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
