Man dies in Blenheim road crash

A man is dead after crashing his vehicle on State Highway 1, South of Ward in Marlborough in the early hours yesterday morning.

The man was the sole occupant of the vehicle and Police do not believe any other vehicles were involved in the accident.

The man is known to have left a Ward address about midnight. The crashed vehicle was discovered 1km away about 8am today by a passing Police patrol.

Investigations into the cause of the accident are currently under way.

The man is believed to be in his 50s, but no further details are available.
