There's plenty happening in Rotorua to keep families occupied over Easter, including:
 

Friday 6 April


Combined Church Services - Good Friday Service
9am to 11am
City Focus

Enjoy a combined church Good Friday Easter service at City Focus on Tutanekai St.

BMX Nationals
9am to 4pm
Rotorua BMX track off Te Ngae Rd

Rotorua Club hosts the three-day BMX Nationals this Easter.
Watch BMX riders in the biggest event on the annual New Zealand race calendar. Along with our Kiwi riders will be elite riders from Australia gearing up for World's competition in Auckland in July next year. This is a spectator sport and can be enjoyed by the whole family.

Rotorua Soundshell and Lakefront

The market has plenty of nearby parking, as well as inside and outdoor stalls.
New and handcrafted goods for sale, and a variety of genuine curio and collectable stalls.

BMX Nationals
9am to 4pm
Rotorua BMX track off Te Ngae Rd

Watch BMX riders in the biggest event on the annual New Zealand race calendar.

Easter Model Train Show
10am to 2pm
Rotorua Racecourse on Fenton Street
Cost: Adults $6, Children $3, Family $18.

Come and see model trains for all ages, fantastic American, Continental, English and New Zealand layouts, and amazing landscapes and sceneries.
A coffee van with food will be available, as well as a sausage sizzle.
A wonderful long weekend event for the whole family.

Easter Antique and Collectables Fair 2012
10am to 5pm
Rotorua Convention Centre

Quality antique fair presented by The Antique Fair Charitable Trust TACT. All items for sale including quality furniture, vintage tools, quality china, crystal and silver, clocks, militaria, books, jewellery (vintage and modern), quality collectables, and much more.

The Blues Buffet
7pm to 12am
Seismic Gastrobar

Wanganui based band The Blues Buffet incorporates a mix of popular and original compositions, putting on a non-stop dance party. The Blues Buffet feature the styles and music of Lucky Peterson, Eric Clapton, The Steve Miller Band, The Isley Bros, Johnny Winter, Little Charlie and the Nightcats and The Rolling Stones. Be warned, you won't sit still when this band gets going.

Rotorua Arts Village Experience

The Hot Lakes Craft Market features a collection of handmade wares, pottery from Rotorua Potters, and also includes artists from our local area.
Yummy food and coffee will be available to enjoy inside or out. Galleries will be open for viewing, as will the Village Craft Shop.
Buskers and children's activities.

Easter at Rainbow Springs
10.30am to 2.30pm

Cost: $5 per child with Rainbow Springs Locals card. If you don't have a Locals Card, grab one! Or just pay normal park entry and you're in.
Our baby tuatara are turning 1 this month. Come and do our fun tuatara fact-finding trail around the park to win yummy chocolate Easter tuatara eggs. You can even try your hand at making your own chocolate animals between 10am and midday at Wairere Cafe. Face painting, colouring, puzzles, wildlife encountes and of course Big Splash fun!
