Heavy Traffic to North

Traffic northbound on SH1 is heavy.  There is a 1km queue at the Puhoi tunnel and traffic north of the tunnel to Warkworth is extremely slow, averaging 30km/h.

Highway patrol units report that traffic is light on SH16 and motorists are advised to use that route, through Helensville, as an alternative.
