A 20 year old male has appeared in the Waitakere District Court on serious charges after a stabbing in West Auckland last night.
The man has appeared on charges of Aggravated Burglary and Wounding with Intent to cause Grievous Bodily Harm.
He has been remanded in custody for a further Court appearance tomorrow. Interim name suppression has been granted. No plea was entered.
The charges result from an incident in Glendene, West Auckland in which a 95 year old man was stabbed in his home by a male intruder.
The incident happened at about 9.30pm last night Wednesday 18 April 2012.
The 95 year old victim is in a stable condition in hospital.
