Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash

At 6.10pm a car collided with a pedestrian crossing Dyers Rd at the intersection with Ferry Road, Christchurch.

The pedestrian, a 13 yr old school boy from Christchurch, died as a result of injuries received in the collision.

Police have spoken to the driver of the vehicle.  Investigations into the cause of the crash are being carried out with assistance of the Serious Crash Unit.

Police are currently notifing the family of the boy killed in the collision.  Victim Support are assisting Police to support both families and witnesses involved in this tragedy.
