Young man stabbed in central Wellington

A male was stabbed in Willis Street this morning during a fight involving a large group about 1220am. The weapon involved appears to be a knife.

The victim is an 18 year old man. He is currently undergoing treatment at Wellington Hospital. His injuries are moderate and not life threatening.

Any witnesses to this incident should contact the Wellington Police.

Police are looking for an outstanding offender described as male maori fair skinned shaggy hair about 5'9' tall wearing a navy shirt.
