7 year old male child deceased body recovered

Police report that at about 7.15pm this evening (May 21), they recovered the deceased body of a 7 year old male child in the water underneath the Mangere bridge in Mangere.

The child is one of the parties that we have been searching for since yesterday when their dinghy capsized in the Manukau Harbour.

Police have called off their search for now but will resume again tomorrow at first light where the search for the 45 year old male still missing will continue.
