The work of New Zealand’s top emerging artists from Elam School of Fine Arts at The University of Auckland has been published in a new book.

Elam Graduate Work 2011, a catalogue of Elam’s annual end-of-year Graduate Shows, gives a glimpse into the future of arts practice. This is the fifth edition in the series representing the final submissions of graduating students and is a must for anyone interested in new work by young contemporary artists.

The beautifully designed publication is a collector’s item that presents a refreshing look at the diverse forms employed by graduates from Elam School of Fine Arts -  many of whom go on to enjoy stellar careers both in New Zealand and overseas.

“The history of New Zealand art since 1890 is populated with many talented practitioners who are Elam graduates. This year’s are the latest cohort to join this accomplished group. Elam Graduate Work showcases the unmistakable quality and inventiveness of their work across a wide range of both traditional and experimental media” says Associate Professor Derrick Cherrie, Head of Elam School of Fine Arts.

This publication is available from suppliers of fine art books nationwide or through Elam School of Fine Arts for $19.95.

The University of Auckland’s National Institute of Creative Arts and Industries comprises the School of Architecture and Planning, Elam School of Fine Arts, the Centre for Art Research (CAR), the School of Music and the Dance Studies Programme.
