More information on McKenzie Pool

McKenzie Pool is an outdoor, summer only facility located in Udy Street, Petone.  Built in the early 1930's with an upgrade in the 1970’s, the pools, pipework and water treatment plant have come to the end of their life and need replacement.

Read the options and facility condition report -

In 2008 a consultation process was held with focus groups, public and pool users. Through this consultation, we received suggestions on location, size and what the upgrade could look like.

Late 2011, after different options and locations were reviewed, Council voted for a $2.2m upgrade on the current site.  This is currently going through the Council Annual and Long Term Plan process.
