Fatal Crash

Northland Serious Crash staff are finishing mapping the scene of a fatal two-car crash that occurred this morning at Three Bridges, just north of Kawakawa.

An elderly woman travelling north died when her car collided head-on with a southbound vehicle at 10.35a.m.  One occupant of the second vehicle was flown to Whangarei hospital with serious injuries.  The two other occupants were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

SH 1 has been closed as the injured were cut from their vehicle.  The highway should be reopened by 1.30p.m.
