CityLink’s Raumanga and Morningside bus service will be temporarily re-routed from Monday 28 May 2012 due to roadworks along the route.

Whangarei District Council has advised that the Tarewa Rd-Porowini Avenue intersection will be undergoing some re-alignment works during May and June 2012.

This means a temporary route change between Raumanga and Morningside for CityLink’s Route 5 bus service.

The bus service will be re-routed as follows:

  • Rose Street bus terminus onto Walton Street
  • Railway Road, Woods Street, Commerce Street
  • Okara Drive onto Porowini Ave
  • Kaka Street to Morningside Road.

Three Morningside Rd bus stops will be unavailable while the roadworks are happening – two outside Carousel Kitchens and one near the Morningside shops.  The closest alternative bus stop will be by Morningside Primary School.

Chris Powell, Transport Manager for Northland Regional Council, says services will return to normal once the roadworks are complete.

“It may also mean slight delays to other routes but we’ll do our best to keep these to a minimum.”
