PALMERSTON NORTH

Palmerston North Rural CIB are investigating the unexplained death of a woman in her late forties in Dannevirke.

Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Simon Harrison says Police were called to an Empire Street address around 7am on Wednesday 13 June where the body of the deceased was located.

A post-mortem examination has been carried out in Wellington today and Police are continuing to make enquiries on behalf of the Coroner.

The death is being treated as unexplained at this time until further results of the post-mortem are available. This is expected to take some time.

At this time, there is no evidence to suggest the woman's death is suspicious, but rather 'unexplained'.
