Chorus broadband cabinets in Hutt City are receiving a makeover in the interests of graffiti eradication.
Cabinets in different spots across the city that were once a target for graffiti are now sporting brightly coloured art works. Each cabinet is painted in a different theme and often the residents of nearby houses are asked for suggestions on what they would like to see on the cabinets.
Council’s graffiti eradication officer says it’s fantastic to see Chorus commission these artworks.
“The cabinets were getting hit all the time and needed constant cleaning – but with murals now they are being left alone,” he says.
