Wellington Police considering options following the granting of liquor license to Calendar Girls

The Liquor Licensing Authority has granted a license to Calendar Girls.

Officer in charge of the Wellington CIB Detective Inspector Paul Basham says the LLA granted the on-license yesterday, effective immediately. The LLA dealt with the application on the papers and did not convene a hearing.

Notwithstanding the decision of the LLA, Detective Inspector Basham says Police believe they had good grounds to oppose the application by Calendar Girls.

"We formally objected to the license being granted and will now consider the decision of the LLA."
