Seasonal worker to appear on rape charges

Motueka Police are investigating a complaint of sexual violation from a Nelson woman.

It is alleged to have occurred at a Westbank house in the early hours of Saturday the 10 November 2007.

Detectives and a Scene of Crime Officer are currently at the address and it is expected that they will complete their examination of the address later today.

A number of persons are being spoken to by the Police and it is expected that these enquiries will be completed the next few days.

Police have arrested a 26 year old seasonal worker from Riwaka and he will appear in the Nelson District Court on Monday the 12 November 2007 charges with Rape.

Police are not seeking any other person in relation to this incident.
