Missing US National located safe and well

A US National reported missing last week has been found safe and well over the weekend.

Detective Sergeant Linda Simpson of the NZ Police Missing Persons Unit says 26 year old Sean D'Epagnier was located by Picton Police on his sailboat 'Alexandra' in Waikawa Bay around 8pm on Saturday night.

Police were contacted by the US Embassy late last week in relation to the whereabouts of Mr D'Epagnier.

Detective Sergeant Linda Simpson says Mr D'Epagnier was unaware he had been reported missing and has since contacted his family, who had last heard from him in May.
