STRATFORD

Stratford was abuzz with the positivity coming from the Stratford Positive Ageing forum held in the District Council chambers on Wednesday the 7th of November.

The audience at the Positive Ageing forums has always been strong, and this forum was no different. People filled the Council chambers to hear speeches from the newly elected councillors of the Stratford District Council, Ted Gallen from the Office of Senior Citizens, and Ross Elmes from WINZ.

All speeches were gratefully received, and the talk from Elmes about Home Equity schemes was particularly useful to many.

Brick Mathieson, the chairman of the Stratford Positive Ageing Committee says “these forums are held three times a year, to give practical information to our senior citizens, for the purpose of their wellbeing.”

The Stratford Positive Ageing committee meet monthly at the Stratford District Council offices. All are welcome to come to the meetings.

Anyone interested in joining us is most welcome, and can contact Pauline James at the Stratford District Council (06 765 6099).
