HAMILTON

Hamilton Police do not believe the death of a man found lying on the footpath in an industrial area of the City yesterday was suspicious.

Detective Senior Sergeant Karl Thornton of the Hamilton CIB said a post-mortem examination completed in Auckland this morning indicated the death was not suspicious.

"The matter has now been reported to the Coroner who will determine the cause of the man's death.

"Yesterday's preliminary investigations necessitated Green St being partially closed for a period of time which meant a number of business owners and residents were inconvenienced. As is often the case, when local key holders became aware of the seriousness of the matter they were very cooperative and supportive of the enquiry team which we are grateful for."
