Counties Manukau Police make early arrest for the murder of Stephen Knibb

Counties Manukau Police have today arrested a 25 year old male for murder. The arrest comes after Police were called to the Ramarama Caravan park on Ararimu Road on the evening of Monday 30 July 2012.  The body of 66 year old Stephen John Knibb was discovered. Police spent yesterday conducting a scene examination and awaiting post-mortem results. An arrest was made in the early hours of this morning.

The arrested man will appear in the Pukekohe District Court today.

Police have established that Mr Knibb was at the Country Inn pub, a short distance from the Caravan Park, on Friday evening 27 July. Although an arrest has been made Police are interested in hearing from anyone who had contact with or saw Mr Knibb on Friday evening.

Police also want to hear from anyone who saw either a Green and Silver Mitsubishi Pajero or a Maroon/Red coloured Subaru Impreza with spoked mag wheels in the general area on Friday night/Saturday Morning
