Essential maintenance work on the Far North District Council's public water supply scheme at Waitangi tomorrow night (August 9) may cause minor disruptions to users.

Council contractors will be replacing pressure-reducing and isolation valves at the Haruru Falls reservoir on Goffe Drive.

Work will not commence until 10pm to minimise the inconvenience to households.

A normal water supply should be available again by 5am on Friday (August 10).

Water users in the Paihia/Waitangi area may experience low flows in the mains system while the work is carried out.

A water tanker will be used to help maintain a reduced level of supply, but residents in Goffe Drive at Haruru Falls may have no water for a short period.

The council apologises for any temporary inconvenience caused while this essential work is carried out.
