Repairs Force Temporary Shutdown Of Paihia Water Supply
Paihia residents will be without water during the early hours of Friday morning.
The Far North District Council plans to shut its Paihia water scheme down for essential maintenance for five hours at midnight on Thursday (August 23).
Council contractors had planned to replace pressure-reducing and isolation valves at the Haruru Falls reservoir earlier this month.
However, technical issues prevented a shut-down at the reservoir.
Contractors will attempt to do this work again on Friday, but will need to shut down the Waitangi Water Treatment Plant as well.
This will result in a temporary loss of water to the reticulation network in the Haruru Falls and Paihia area.
The Council apologises for any temporary inconvenience caused while this essential work is carried out.
