Begonia House Partially Reopens
Several weeks ago, we had to close the Begonia House with little notice because we found it was too dangerous for people to be in. Since then, we have strengthened it enough for it to be partially opened.
The temperate part of the Begonia House is now open with Council staff reinstating the spectacular floral displays. The tropical end will remain closed for a further four to six weeks while we complete the strengthening work.
As promised, Picnic Cafe reopened for business again at the weekend in time for Father's Day, which also happens to coincide with the cafe's five-year anniversary.
Seismic strengthening work was completed ahead of schedule, which gave us time to do extra maintenance work like painting all the steelwork in the cafe.
The Botanic Garden shop has also reopened.
We would like to thank all Botanic Garden visitors for their patience while this urgent work took place.
