Ingham Butterfly Chicken Gets Top Marks for Food Safety

Following a successful Butterfly Bay summer promotion with Bernice Mene, Ingham New Zealand is proud to announce that its new products, Butterfly Chicken Lime & Chilli and Herb & Garlic, have been named a finalist in the 2012 NZ Food Awards in the AsureQuality Food Safety category.

The Butterfly Chicken products are the only meat products to be named a finalist in the category, and Ingham National Sales Manager Jonathan Gray says they were designed with the consumer’s food safety top of mind.

“Chicken is generally one of the first products that comes to mind when considering food safety, so we’re delighted that Ingham has been recognised as a leader in this category,” Gray says.

“At Ingham, we pride ourselves on our food safety standards and we are very pleased to be recognised as a finalist in the NZ Food Awards.”

Special food safety design features of the Butterfly Chicken products include leak proof vacuum packaging and an easy tear top making for a simple, no-mess transfer from fridge to oven or barbecue with minimal handling.

“Ingham’s Butterfly Chicken is a popular product with families, and makes for the ideal barbecue meal during the hot summer months. Food safety is particularly important to consider in the heat, so being named a finalist in the food safety category will give consumers even greater confidence in these popular products,” says Gray.

Other finalists in the category include Greenshell NZ Ltd Chilled Live Greenshell Mussels, and Simply Squeezed Superjuice. Winners will be announced at the NZ Food Awards Gala Dinner to be held at the Langham Hotel on Thursday September 27.
