Fancy a cup of tea and a chat with Mayor Harry Duynhoven? Or is it more convenient to chat with him online from the comfort of your home or workplace?

Whatever your preference you can take part in ‘Chat with Harry – in person or online’ – a new series of face to face and web events starting this Wednesday when Mayor Harry drops in at Oakura School.

“Anyone in Oakura from 8.45am to 10.30am this Wednesday is welcome to pop in and raise any topic they like, or just have a general chat about what’s happening in the town and district,” says Mayor Harry.

Further in-person chats for 2012 will be held at Inglewood Library and Service Centre on Monday 12 November, and at Urenui & District Community Centre on Wednesday 5 December, both from 10.00am to 11.30am, before the first webchat takes place from 10.00am on Monday 19 November at newplymouthnz.com/webchat.

A second webchat for 2012 will take place on Tuesday 4 December, also from 10.00am. More in-person and online chats are planned for 2013.

“This is about talking directly with the community, both in person and online, and hearing about what’s important to them,” adds the Mayor.

“Not everyone can make it along to a face to face event so we’ll also be running the webchats to speak to as many people as possible.”
