Invercargill - Assault

Invercargill Police are investigating an assault of a 42 year old man at Russell Square in the early hours of Sunday morning, the 28th of October 2012.

Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the assault.   It is believed there were between three and six male offenders who attacked the lone victim.

Members of the public went to the victim's aid and were also assaulted by the group.

The victim has been released from hospital and is recovering following some serious facial injuries.

Detective Scott MacKenzie from the Invercargill CIB would like to speak to anyone with information about the assault.
