Tender awarded for refuse transfer station operations

Taupō District Council awarded the contract to operate the Turangi and Omori refuse transfer stations at the 30 October Council meeting in Turangi.

The tender was awarded to Metallic Sweeping (1998) Ltd for $564,000. The contract is for the operation of the refuse transfer stations and the collection of recyclables from the Whareroa Refuse Transfer Station for 36 months starting 1 February 2013.

Funding for the work was allocated in Council’s Annual Plan within the solid waste budgets.
