Invercargill Police Make Three Arrests in Relation to Russell Square Assault

Information from members of the public has led to the arrest of three men in relation to an alleged serious assault on an Invercargill man early on Sunday morning in Russell Square.

Three young Invercargill men, two aged 19 and another aged 17, will appear in the Invercargill District Court today on assault charges.

Detective Scott MacKenzie of the Invercargill CIB thanked the public for their assistance saying that information provided from the public had been crucial to making the arrests.

The three men each face a charge of injuring with intent to injure causing grievous bodily harm.

Police are still appealing for any further information from anyone who might have either been in the vicinity of Russell Square early on Sunday morning between 2am and 2.30am or who might know about the assault.
