The new operator of the Todd Energy Aquatic Centre’s cafe intends to make a splash.

The French Cake Shop and Catering Company will be running the café from tomorrow (Wednesday) under the new name Splash Café.

“We’re in a facility where people want to get healthy so we’ll have a big emphasis on providing fresh, healthy options with ingredients coming from local producers and suppliers,” says Company Director Paul Hansen.

“We’ll also have Ozone coffee made by trained baristas, and home-style baking and slices.

“We intend to make Splash Café a great destination for people on the Coastal Walkway and nearby residents, as well as for people in the Todd Energy Aquatic Centre.”

Manager Aquatic Recreation Operations Mike Roberts says the French Cake Shop and Catering Company stood out as a local business with a clear idea for the café.

“They have reinvented the aquatic centre’s café with a big focus on fresh food. I’m sure it’ll be a hit with the public,” he says.

Splash Café will be open from 8.30am to 5.00pm seven days a week.

Earlier this year the French Cake Shop and Catering Company took on the catering service at TSB Showplace and TSB Stadium.
