SANTA GETS SET TO PUT A SMILE ON THE FACES OF CHRISTCHURCH CHILDREN
It’s nearly that time of year when good little children of the world wake up to find presents underneath their Christmas tree. Santa seems to think there are a lot of good children in Christchurch, so he’ll be setting up home at The Palms Shopping Centre to pay them a visit.
Arriving on Saturday 24 November, Santa’s presence will mark the start of the Christmas season at The Palms. Children and adults alike can see Santa arrive in the grand style he is renowned for from 9.30am when he will travel around the neighbouring streets before settling into his grotto at The Palms at 11:30am.
Santa’s parade around the community will travel from Shortland Street, down Pages Rd, Buckleys Rd, Linwood Ave, Avonside Drive, Fitzgerald Ave, Moorehouse Ave, Montreal Street, Bealey Ave, Whitmore Street, Shirley Road, New Brighton Road, into Golflinks Road and then into The Palms.
Children keen to have their photo taken with Santa can have this done following his arrival at the grotto located at outside Kmart. Photo opportunities with Santa will continue daily until Christmas Eve.
The Palms shopping centre manager Simon Carter says the centre is looking forward to welcoming in the Christmas season.
“It’s been a great year and we are looking forward to having Santa bring his Christmas cheer to the centre. It is always a lot of fun and nothing puts a smile on children’s faces more,” he says.
