Hard-hitting New Zealand batsman Jesse Ryder has switched brands and signed a long-term sponsorship deal with cricket equipment-manufacturer GRAY-NICOLLS. It’s a move that is part of a new beginning and fresh approach to Ryder’s cricket.

“I’m stoked with the new deal with GRAY-NICOLLS.

“I have been trying to change a lot of things in my life and the move just felt right. When I sat down with my manager and discussed the various options, it became really clear what the right choice was.

“I love the new gear and can’t wait to use it,” Jesse Ryder said.

Ryder will bat with the GRAY-NICOLLS EVO range in the third Test against India in Wellington starting 3 April 2009.

As part of the new deal, Ryder along with New Zealand cricket captain Daniel Vettori, will use for the first time a radically designed fully carbon helmet. The helmet took 12 months to develop and is extremely lightweight without compromising any protection. Further details attached.
