Hola, buon giorno, sawatdee!

If your travel plans will require you to ask the way to the Colosseum or whether your hotel has two beds or one, our new language-learning programme could be for you.

Through our libraries you can now learn languages online, free, with Mango Languages. This interactive programme lets you record yourself and play it back, to compare your accent to native speakers of the language.

With 45 languages - from German to Thai and Italian - you'll find Mango an easy, fun and effective way to learn. Fans of Pirates of the Caribbean can even learn to speak 'Pirate'.

There are also 15 English-as-a-second-language courses which include lessons for native speakers of Spanish, French, Vietnamese, Arabic, Russian, Greek, Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin) and Japanese.

To get started on Mango, you'll need your library card, a computer with an internet connection and Adobe Flash Player 9 or higher.
