Truck crash north of Urenui

Driversions are still in place after a truck carrying LPG bottles crashed north of Urenui this morning.  

The truck crashed just before 7 near the intersection of State Highway 3 and Pukearuhe Road blocking both lanes. The diversion runs through Mimi Road for light vehicles. 

It was believe that drivers stuck at the scene were evacuated from their vehicles as a precaution. 

New Plymouth's hazardous materials unit was called in to assess the truck and to clear the road. 

The driver is not injured.
