WELLINGTON CITY

Excitement is building for The Food Show Wellington 2013, it’s so close you can smell it!

Kicking off Friday 24th and running until Sunday 26th May, the much-loved Food Show promises to be another un-missable occasion for foodies, wine lovers and budding home chefs alike. Taste, smell and enjoy, it’s a culinary experience to be savoured on every sensory level!

This year’s show serves up hot new exhibitors including Zelati gourmet artisan gelato made with organic New Zealand milk as well as dairy-free sorbet; there’s the Nutty Bavarian glazed and roasted nuts and nut roasting equipment, plus favourites Lewis Road Creamery and Blue Coconut – an exhibitor who can teach you the benefits of cooking naturally with coconut oil.

Ikana Live Greenshell Mussels are also newcomers to Wellington. These delicious mussels are hand-selected, cleaned, graded and packed fresh in a revolutionary modified atmosphere packaging – giving them a 10- day shelf life. The company are huge innovators in the seafood scene and a ‘must-visit’ experience for the mussel lovers visiting the show.

Add to the mix vegetarian foods from Vege Delights, gourmet condiments from Snooty Food and sweet treats from Donovan’s chocolate and your palate is nicely primed to try some of the many beverages on offer. Savour the flavours of boutique beer brands including Epic and Tuatara Brewery, or sip a delicious drop from Tohu or Forrest Wines – and you’ve got the beginnings of a very scrumptious day started.

An exciting new dimension to the show has also been added with a healthy living focus. Dr Libby, one of Australasia’s leading nutrition and wellness experts will be presenting alongside Chef Cynthia, demonstrating her whole-foods cooking system born from the desire to inspire us all to eat what she calls 'low human intervention foods', real food, the way it comes in nature.

But it doesn’t stop there – organisers have ensured a healthy dose of cooking demonstrations and live activity in the Electrolux Cooking Theatre, the Kenwood Kitchen and the Culinary Fare as well. The chef line- up boasts local talent including Martin Bosley and Shaun Clouston, plus Nici Wickes and MasterChef NZ judges Josh Emett, Simon Gault, Ray McVinnie and more.

Between cooking demos, wandering around the stands sampling from hundreds of products and purchasing unique offerings at exclusive show- only prices, you’ll fall in love once again with all things culinary. Be inspired by tasting new food, sharing recipes, meeting food producers and discovering new ideas for the table. If you’re a foodie, there’s no other place to be.
