Rangi Takes Title in Tennis

The Rangi Premier tennis team of Annabel Ellis (Capt), Vera Goesmann, Imogen Bell, Stella Hoeper and Margo Willis have taken the title of South Island Secondary School Girls Tennis Champions.

Under the umbrella of top Canterbury Professional coach Remi Feneon, the team has taken back the title after several years.

The final was as always, a hard fought battle against St Margaret’s, but winning three of the four singles matches set the team up for almost certain victory.

All it took was the first set of the number one doubles to seal the result and this was achieved with a 6-0 first set.

The final result was a 4 – 2 decisive win to Rangi.

Both Rangi and St Margaret’s go on to Wellington in two weeks’ time to contest the NZSS Title.  These two teams are the sole South Island representative schoolgirls’ teams.
