New Director of Boarding for Rangi Ruru
Rangi Ruru Girls’ School in Christchurch has announced the appointment of a new Director of Boarding.
Kyleigh Lyth will join the school in January 2017, coming from Selwyn House School where she has been their Director of Boarding
Rangi Ruru Principal, Dr Sandra Hastie says she is very pleased to be filling the important role with someone of Kyleigh Lyth’s calibre.
“It is incredibly important that our new Director of Boarding continues the excellent care and support currently being provided to our girls”, says Dr Hastie.
“Kyleigh will bring to the role specialist skills in caring for girls in a boarding environment. She has been working in boarding roles for a number of years and is dedicated to ensuring both the physical and emotional wellbeing of the young people in her care, an holistic approach we take across the whole school,” added Dr Hastie.
“We are very proud of our family environment in the boarding house and how happy our girls are.”
Kyleigh Lyth will move to Rangi Ruru with her husband of 17 years, Anthony, and their three children, Isaac (15,) Noah (13) and Lily (11).
“I am a true advocate for girls boarding as I was once a boarder myself,” she says. “There are enormous learning benefits including cooperation, respecting one another, responsibility, self-management skills and most importantly girls having a sense of belonging and a positive identity.”
Kyleigh adds that the positive relationships between staff, parents and girls is the most important aspect to running a successful and happy Boarding House.
Rangi Ruru’s current Director of Boarding, Treena Ruwhiu is returning to teaching.
