Stopping Violence Dunedin street appeal press release.
Stopping Violence Dunedin is appealing for community support
On Wednesday 30th August, Stopping Violence Dunedin(SVD) is holding its first ever street appeal.
Stopping Violence Dunedin is raising funds to assist them to provide their important services to the local community.
SVD has been active in the Dunedin community for the last 30 years and more. It is a not for profit organisation, dedicated to supporting its local community.
SVD supports people to build sound relationships, healthy whanau/families and safer communities. They offer a range of free services and programmes, focussing on the people in the community who may not have access to these services otherwise.
These services include individual counselling, couples’ counselling, parenting skills support, and anger management group programmes for men and women. These programmes help develop skills for our clients to manage their family relationships, communicate with each other and their partners, friends and colleagues in healthy and respectful ways and to manage conflict. SVD has recently opened a creche.
Many of these important services provided by SVD are not funded by traditional sources, hence the street appeal this Wednesday.
Please support Stopping Violence Dunedin by giving generously on Wednesday 30th August.
