HAWKE'S BAY

Prestigious Hawke’s Bay Winery, C J Pask have been awarded a clutch of medals at the 2007 World Wine Championships held in Chicago recently.

The Winery’s Declaration Chardonnay 2006 and the Declaration Cabernet Merlot Malbec 2005 were awarded Gold Medals, with Silver going to the Declaration Merlot 2005 and the Gimblett Road Syrah 2006.

“We are delighted with the results,” says Kate Radburnd, Managing Director of C J Pask. “ It positions our brands at the super premium level in the all important North American market and reinforces both the quality of the C J Pask brand and Hawke’s Bay as a world class wine growing region.”

The World Wine Championships uses the points system as a rating in addition to medals with the Gold medal winning wines receiving over 90 points out of a possible 100.

“The American and Canadian consumers place significant emphasis on the points system and those wines that scores over 90 points generally enjoy increased sales” says Kate.” We look forward to selling more wine to the North American market.”
