WELLINGTON CITY

On Thursday 31 January (tomorrow) the NZI Rugby Sevens street parade is taking place.

The parade will travel from Parliament down Lambton Quay and Willis Street to Civic Square. The parade sets off from the Cenotaph at 12.45pm and will end at Civic Square at around 1.15pm. In order to ensure that the parade runs smoothly and safely there will some rolling road closures.

At 12.30pm all roads along the parade route will be closed. This includes Lambton Quay, Lower Willis Street (up to Mercer Street), Mercer Street, and the Victoria Street/Wakefield Street junction at the entrance of Civic Square. From 12.45pm onwards the roads will gradually be re-opened as the parade progresses.

Motorists and buses using these streets should expect some delays while the parade is on.

Wellington City Council thanks Wellingtonians in advance for their co-operation during what promises to be an exciting and colourful event.
