Summer reading programme makes a splash
The Stratford District Library’s Summer Reading Programme has once again proved a success, with 50 young readers from around the District taking part.
This summer the readers enjoyed a series of related activities, including a rocket making competition, Mary Kippenberger’s story telling, and a finale party at the TSB Pool Complex.
District Librarian Heather Taylor said “it’s great to see kids who are shy at the start of the programme grow in confidence. They realise that the Library isn’t a scary place, but more importantly, they realise that reading can be fun.”
The Stratford District Library Summer Reading Programme was themed around space, and the Library decorated itself accordingly.
Julie O’Sullivan said “it’s a great programme. My daughter Lauren has really enjoyed it”.
