One occupant is confirmed deceased. 3 horses are believed to be trapped in a trailer attached to one of the vehicles.

Road closures are in place.

Traffic heading east or west toward Morrinsville is being diverted via Makutu Rd, Hangawera Rd and Tahuna Rd.

Traffic coming from the south is being diverted along Kurinui Rd and Avenue North.
