Home detention for polluting farmer

Morrinsville — Morrinsville farmer Kenneth McIntyre has been sentenced to a term of five months home detention and been fined $100,000 in the Hamilton District Court following his conviction on 13 charges of breaching the Resource Management Act.  The sentence imposed by Judge David Kirkpatrick yesterday follows a trial in June of last year.

Arrest of Previously Sought Person

Morrinsville — Waikato Police would like to thank the public for assistance in locating a 34 year old Morrinsville Man, the subject of an earlier media release.  He was arrested earlier this afternoon and will appear in the Hamilton District court tomorrow facing a charge of kidnapping and three of injuring with intent.

Man charged following fatal crash

Morrinsville — A 21-year-old man has appeared in the District Court at Morrinsville today (Tuesday, 2 March) charged with manslaughter and driving with excess blood alcohol causing injury following a fatal car crash on State Highway 2 at Papatawa in December.
