Slips on State Highway 1. Hurunui/Kaikoura Area

Hurunui Area, Slippages occurring in the Parnassus and Conway Flats Area.

Police have received several reports throughout the day concerning slips that have put rocks and rubble onto the State Highway in the Hurunui/Kaikoura Area.

Opus and Roadage contractors have cleared slips away off the road. Police are concerns that due to further rain more slips may occur in the area.

Police advise that motorists in the area should take extreme care when driving in one the roads in the Hurunui Area.
