Auckland Roads Described as Treacherous

10.30pm - The Police Northern Communications Centre have received several calls from concerned motorists about the treacherous conditions on Auckland roads which have been described by one caller as icy.

At least three crashes reported within the last half hour, on the motorway system and on suburban roads, appear to be weather related.

Motorists are asked to take particular care in what are certainly unusual conditions for the region.
