Fatal crash near Bluff

At about 1.40 pm on Saturday the 21st February Police were called to a 2 vehicle crash on State Highway 1 between Greenpoint and Bluff, 20 km south of Invercargill.
A Ford laser driven by an elderly female has come out of her driveway onto the highway and has collided with a Toyota Ute.
As a result of the crash the female driver of the Laser has been killed. She was the only occupant.
The occupants of the Toyota which included the driver and two passengers were injured.
Local police assisted by the Serious Crash Unit and other staff are investigating.
At this early stage the cause of the crash is unknown. At the time of the crash it was overcast with light rain.
NAME: The deceased has now been named at 79 year old Jessie Isabelle Noble from State Highway 1, Southland.
