Judge Perkins appointed to Employment Court

Judge Mark Perkins has been appointed a temporary Judge of the Employment Court for a term of two years from 29 June 2009, Attorney-General Christopher Finlayson announced today.

Judge Perkins was appointed to the bench of the District Court on 16 July 1999. He was an experienced practitioner in employment law before his appointment and has previously served as a temporary Judge of the Employment Court for a term of 12 months from 1 July 2006.

During the term of his warrant Judge Perkins will serve primarily as a District Court Judge with the ability to sit in the Employment Court from time to time as needed.
